Camping at Yellow Creek is your home away from home.

Yellow Creek Campground

Yellow Creek Campground is a private, family-owned campground located 12 miles east of Indiana, PA on Route 422. It was purchased by the Vite Family, Don and Lorna Vite, in August of 2009. Their mission was to provide an enjoyable and relaxing camping experience. This wooded campground is bordered on the west by Big Yellow Creek, a stocked trout stream. This stream is the main source of water for the 720 acre lake at Yellow Creek State Park.

All sites include electric and water hook-ups, as well as a fire ring and picnic table. Five cabins are available for overnight camping. The heated bathhouse offers restroom and shower facilities. The pavilion is also available for all camp activities. The camp store offers ice, firewood, camping supplies, live bait and fishing supplies, propane, dry goods, ice cream, and snacks.

Even though modern conveniences are offered such as WIFI, traditional woodland camping is encouraged. The campground offers a place to take a break from the stress and fast pace of life by getting into nature, playing in the stream, sitting around the campfire for hot dogs, s’mores, and mountain pies, and spending time with family and friends.

Sadly, Don lost his fight with cancer, January, 2013. He loved the campground and the people. He enjoyed bringing joy and fun and laughter to everyone in his life.

The campground family built a memorial garden to Don called “Pootie’s Ponder” (the name the grandchildren call him) and as you enter the campground you will see “Jock” the black bear, purchased with donations from the campground family.

Lorna continues to operate the campground along with family and friends and welcomes everyone to this wonderful place!
